Halloween is my favorite holiday of the year. Maybe it is because my birthday is in October, so I have fond memories of the Halloween-themed parties of my childhood; or maybe because it is the one night adults can dress as crazy as they want to. Miami knows how to throw a party anyway, and with Halloween on a Wednesday this year, we will have multiple opportunities to let out our inner kid. Check out some of my favorites for this year:
Vampire Circus – October 18 – 31, 7:30 p.m. at Bayfront Park in Downtown Miami
“Created and founded by Francisco Javier Santos the multi-aware winning executive producer brings his amazing vision that was inspired by the magic and captivating allure of traveling circuses. The Vampire Circus is the perfect cover up for vampires to travel unnoticed and begin their world reign of terror! This live performance in Bayfront Park, Downtown Miami showcases theater, dance, gymnastics and more. Described as mysterious, sexy, fun, dark and dangerous, this show is truly one of the most unusual Halloween events in Downtown Miami!”
Monster Splash Bash at Miami Seaquarium October 26, 27, 28 & 31st Noon – 10pm, 4400 Rickenbacker Causeway, Key Biscayne, FL 33149
“Little ghosts and goblins get set for big fun at Miami’s biggest kid-friendly Halloween Extravaganza – Monster Splash Daytime Splash & Nighttime Bash. With more ghoulish treats and ghostly fun than ever before, this year’s event features trick-or-treating at Sharky’s Sweet Tooth Station; kiddie rides and bounce houses at the Little Monsters Play Area; the Monsters in the Mangrove Haunted Walk; Flipper’s Dance Party and the only place in Miami to enjoy Halloween themed marine animal shows. Monster Splash Daytime Splash & Nighttime Bash is a safe Halloween alternative for kids and their families.”
South Florida Zombie Crawl, October 20th at 7:30 – 11:30, Midtown Miami, check-in at Fountain Plaza, NE 34th Street and Buena Vista Avenue
“Midtown Miami will turn into a scene from Walking Dead when scores of locals don their most depraved zombie attire and participate in a pub crawl through local watering (and feeding) holes including Five Guys, The Cheese Course, Sakaya, Ricochet, Mercadito, Machiya, Wine Vault, Giraffas, Moloko and more. Each venue will have a designated area for the undead and several locales will offer up specially-themed drinks just for the occasion. Put on your ghastliest zombie gear and get ready to frighten onlookers.”
