Really? Yes, and it’s not the first time either! Nerd Wallet previously declared Miami the #1 “Best Urban Place To Retire”. Now, Wallet Hub ranks Miami #3 on it’s “2017’s Best & Worst Places to Retire“.
To help Americans plan an affordable retirement while maintaining the best quality of life, WalletHub’s analysts compared the retiree-friendliness of the 150 largest U.S. cities across 40 key metrics. Best & Worst Places to Retire

Gone Fishing
Miami scored in the 1st quarter for “Health Care”. An important consideration for retirees, the City of Miami does offer an excellent Health District. It is easily accessible by MetroRail, too! Ranking in the 1st quarter for “Affordability” is surprising. This relatively high score is probably due to no income taxes in Florida.
Our biggest boost likely came from scoring fourth for “Activities”. And if you imagine your retirement years deep sea fishing, Miami ranked #2 nationwide for the “Most Fishing Facilities Per Capita”.
While it may be cliche, it is clear that Florida is still the nation’s favorite state to spend our golden years – sun, fun and affordability! But if you prefer a more urban setting than Mickey’s backyard or Cigar City can offer, Miami may be your top retirement choice. (And our cigars are better anyway.)
