Arbor Day City of Miami 2017 Volunteer Project

Please join City of Miami Mayor Tomas Regalado and Commissioner Ken Russell in our Virginia Key Park and Nature Conservancy Restoration project.
Volunteer check-in and breakfast bites start at 8:15 am
Volunteers will receive:
∙ T-shirt and water bottle
∙ Breakfast and lunch provided
∙ Volunteer hours
Volunteer will take part in:
∙ Ceremonial tree planting
∙ Habitat restoration
*Volunteers will need to bring work gloves and supply their own bug repellent and sunscreen. Please dress appropriately. Shirts will be provided at check-in.
Volunteer activity descriptions:
-Habitat Restoration – Removal of invasive exotic plant species and debris, and clearing of trails.
-Butterfly Garden Improvements – Planting of shrubs, weed removal, and debris removal
-Dune Stabilization – Planting of sea-oats and other species to stabilize dunes
-Native Nursery Improvements – Repotting and transplanting of native seedlings
